We are getting ready for a great week-end with our two ladies retreats here at the camp. Susie ODonnell is the featured speaker and is proclaiming the theme "He Lifts Me Up". She is a great communicator and flat out funny!
Susie has a marvelous testimony of God's sustaining grace and provision. He has been faithful to her when many in her life have not. God has used the hurts in her life to provide the opporunity for healing balm to be introduced in the life of others.
That is the reminder from II Corinthians 1:3-7--we experience troubles/trials so that as God comforts us we are equipped to comfort others. Just as Christ suffered we shall suffer, but also in Christ we receive comfort. He brings us to maturity in the trials--they are the refiner's fire that burns away the junk metal and leaves the precious metals of endurance, and hope, and patience, and love, and comfort, and compassion.
So, lighten up! Let God help take the load off of your landing gear and float a healing wind over your wings. He will lift you up.
